Travelling 101

I love travelling. I love the thrills in planning the trip, getting there and the unexpected events that might tag along. I am not rich, though I am still able to save up something just so I could reach a new destination every year. Here are some tips you need to do to have a wonderful vacation on a very tight budget:

1. Be a CebuPac fan.
Visit their page as often as you can to spot a low fare. They could go down to 0 fare. I went to CDO and paid only 56 PHP, my friends even paid 120 PHP to HK and that's a pretty good deal for a roundtrip ticket.

2. Planning the trip
There are a lot of pages in the net that can help you on this. You can try the trip advisor if you want. I , myself, post travel stories there.

KNOW the PLACE. Check the tourist spots, read forums about the hotels in that area and how much money you will spend. Budget is the key.
HOTEL RESERVATION. Consider the month of your travel. You need to know the peak season as you might need to have it reserved months before your trip.
TOUR. Check forums or blogs as you can get important contacts such as the boatman, driver/tourguide. In this way, you can choose whether to go with the hotel tour package ..or get one yourself.

3. The TRIP
Be at the airport 2 hours before the flight. Promo tickets in CebuPac require you to check-in 45 mins before departure. Otherwise, your ticket will not be accepted and you have to buy a new one at an expensive cost (this happened to my neice already). Make sure you have the basic essentials with you. Don't forget the Map, you can save it in your phone, or buy one at a bookstore.

4. Enjoy. Do not freak out if you get lost. It's all part of your journey. Expect surprises , and always try a new thing or food.
